Lesbian Visibility Day 2024

26th April we celebrate Lesbian Visibility Day. Affirmative visibility is crucial to the health and wellbeing of all lesbian-identified people. Visibility is more than just media representation. It includes feeling seen in health and community services, at work, at school, and all other areas of our lives. Visibility brings recognition, safety, and a sense of belonging. We use today to recognise the many contributions from lesbian communities in LGBTIQA+ history, and celebrate all lesbians!

Lesbian visibility is crucial to health and wellbeing. Lesbians can identify many different ways, they can be cisgender women, trans women, non-binary, gender non-conforming, intersex and many more.

LBQ+ Women's Sexual Health Focus group

Meridian is developing a sexual health resource, informed by lived experience, specifically for lesbian, bisexual, and queer+ women. We are currently collecting expressions of interest for this exciting new project. We are holding a focus group on Wednesday 15th May, and we are looking for focus group participants, to talk about sex!

We will be discussing accessing relevant sexual health information, sexual health, sexual health testing, consent, talking about sex practices and much more.

We are keen to hear from you if you:

  • Identify as a lesbian, bisexual, or queer woman
  • Are 18 years of age and older
  • Are based in Canberra or Surrounding Regions
  • Are interest in discussing sexual health, sexual health testing, consent and sex practices

Participants will receive reimbursement for their time and lived experience. Please leave an expression of interest if you want to participate in this project. This form includes questions that will help us represent a diversity of identities and experiences.
